Designs that start from a real drawing
Most engineering shirts stop at a gear and a pun. These start from what mechanical engineers actually deal with. Rough Day uses a Ra 12.5 surface finish symbol, and Ra 3.2 vs Rz 16 is for people who know why those two numbers aren't the same thing. Tolerance ±.0002" MMC and Low Tolerance Club are pure GD&T. Thread Direction Agnostic is for anyone who has fought a left-hand thread, and Stacking Tolerances is the stack-up nobody signed off on.
Tees, hoodies and mugs
Tees come in combed ring-spun or organic cotton. The hoodies are eco raglans in an organic cotton and recycled polyester blend with a brushed fleece inside. Many designs also come in a women's cut and as an 11 oz ceramic mug.
Who they're for
Design engineers, CAD users, machinists, R&D and test engineers, and students who have just met their first tolerance chart. Also a safe bet for the mechanical engineer who already owns every mug with a gear on it.
FAQ
Are the technical references accurate?
That's the point. Each design starts from a real callout, and The Shop Floor blog explains several of them, like Ra vs Rz and GD&T tolerances.
How do the shirts fit?
Each product page has its own size chart, because unisex, women's, organic and hoodie cuts all differ. If you're between sizes, the Find Your Fit guide walks you through it.
Do these work as a gift?
Yes. Match the design to what the person actually does and it lands. Not sure where to start? Browse Gift an Engineer.
